The National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) concludes the third and final phase of the Afro-Asian Forum for Innovation and Technology competitions, with the participation of 516 talented young competitors across 11 technological and innovative fields.
These participants, representing 75 teams, competed at the NTI headquarters located in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital – Cairo, on August 3, 2025.
The final events of the third phase of the Afro-Asian Forum for Innovation and Technology (AAFFIAT) were held at NTI's premises in the Knowledge City, organized under the patronage of Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology. This initiative aligns with NTI's ongoing efforts to develop young digital talents equipped with future-ready skills, in collaboration with elite academic and technical partners and under the sponsorship of WE (Telecom Egypt), the forum’s technology sponsor.
The event welcomed 516 ambitious young competitors, divided into 75 teams from various governorates, who took part in 11 diverse technological and innovation-based competitions, including:
These competitions were organized to promote a spirit of innovation among Afro-Asian youth, encourage knowledge exchange, and build advanced technological skills that enable the next generation to compete in both regional and global markets.
It is noteworthy that these events represent the local qualifiers for the Afro-Asian Forum for Innovation and Technology, with the winning teams advancing to the international finals scheduled to be held in Malaysia in 2025. This reinforces the forum’s global dimension and its role in empowering youth to participate on the world stage.
NTI had also hosted the first and second phases of the forum at its headquarters in the Knowledge City over the past seven months. These stages featured a variety of competitions designed to build the technological and creative capabilities of youth and school students from across the country.
Through specialized judging panels, the submitted projects and competitions were evaluated in the presence of a distinguished group of experts and specialists. Winners in each category were honored and awarded during the closing ceremony.
In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Khattab, Director of the National Telecommunication Institute, affirmed the institute’s commitment to launching initiatives and events that empower youth with the tools of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He emphasized that the forum reflects the Ministry’s vision of investing in young minds and integrating modern technologies into various educational stages.
Dr. Marwa Amara, CEO of the Afro-Asian Forum for Innovation and Technology, expressed her pride in the continued success of the forum since its inception in Luxor in 2019. She highlighted that hosting these prestigious events at NTI reflects Egypt’s commitment to nurturing innovative talents and preparing them for international engagement.
The event concluded with an award ceremony, celebrating the winners amid an atmosphere of excitement, creativity, and optimism for a digital future led by skilled and visionary youth.
It is worth mentioning that across all three phases of the forum, a total of 1,473 young participants competed in 278 teams representing various governorates, across 22 diverse technological and innovation competitions.
